Purpurine; fascinating. I was rather intrigued by a recent article about a new colour named “olo” , a “blue-green of unprecedented saturation.” Apparently only seen after firing laser pulses into the retina and discovered through experiments in understanding the photoreceptors of colour vision.

Really? "Olo". I'll certainly be investigating that! I wonder if it's one of the myriad variations of blue-green that sent my photoreceptors into their screaming-in-delight overload while speeding across a lagoon in the Cook Islands. Those were also "blue-greens of unprecedented saturation"!

Many thanks Carol. Although the trouble at TEFAF, as you well know, with over 20,000 works on display, I could keep writing these articles until next year and have not even scratched the surface of what could be described! So... I'm glad you enjoyed the pieces I chose. But yes, good ol' Mother Nature, eh? Especially from DownUnder (!) - who can still manage (when you're least expecting it) to shock, surprise and enchant via a mere pebble in the palm of your hand.

You're so very welcome Ms. K! Purpurine - perhaps a colour for a feature wall in that swank new gallery of yours? Love and congratulations right back at you & Mr. K!

Hhmmm, that view thing just keeps repeating itself, don't it? Talking of which, did I ever thank you for that kaleidoscope you gave me all those years ago??!! Turns out it's come in REALLY useful! x
